Coach's Comments
It was a true pleasure to watch MC play at the recent EXACT camp. From the beginning, MC's communication and leadership skills really shined through. It's not just about how she plays the game; it's about how she brings the team together, always ready with encouragement or a smart play. Her work ethic and tenacity are just as great. MC gives her all in every drill, showing a level of dedication that sets a great example for the other campers. Where I see room for growth is spacing at the net. Even a small adjustment could really elevate her blocking game. Also, staying behind the setter when hitting is something she'll want to continue to so. I'm genuinely excited about MC's future in volleyball. She's got a fantastic foundation, and with her attitude, the sky's the limit!
Stay Behind the Setter When Hitting - This is crucial for MC. By staying behind the setter, she can keep the ball in front of her, ensuring she has enough room to execute her hit effectively. This position also allows for better vision and timing, vital for a successful attack.
Keeping Elbows Above the Bottom of the Net - This tip is all about improving her blocking. By keeping her elbows above the net, MC can ensure her hands are quick and ready to block. This position allows for more effective and responsive blocking, which can significantly disrupt the opposing team's hitters.
Take Big Strides When Blocking on the Pins - Efficient footwork is the foundation of effective blocking, especially on the pins. MC should focus on taking large strides to cover as much space as possible with the least amount of steps. This efficiency in movement will not only help her conserve energy but also ensure she is in the best position to make the block.
