Coach's Comments |
It was a pleasure to Coach Mary at camp today. She came ready to train each session and was very coachable. She read the game well and looked to play quick and simple out of the back. Shen stepped strong to the ball and had good vision of the field. Mary will continue to strengthen her game over the next few years and prepare herself for the college games. |
Focus on your Ball Control - Continue to work on your first touch, allowing you to maintain possession of the ball and control of the ball. The clean and closer your first touch is the quicker you can play into the attack and transition out at speed. |
Spacing and Awareness - Be aware of the defensive shape and when to drop by to give depth and support. It is easy to penetrate a flat line and the depth allows for better release options out of pressure. |
Speed of Play - As a defender, being able to recover at speed is key, so the more you can work on your speed of play and runs, the more impact you can have on preventing goals. |
