Coach's Comments
Pleasure to work with all week long. Ryane brought a great attitude and positive energy to every session. She is coachable and displayed a real passion for the game. With a great technical foundation she has the groundwork in place to develop into a great player. As a 2025 grad, Ryane has plenty of time to continue to develop physically and find success moving forward.
Be proactive. - As a goalkeeper, you are the teams last line of defense. It is always important to be prepared for anything and to proactively prepare for any potential plays which might occur. Make sure you are thinking ahead when receiving the ball to be in a good position to receive the ball and make a good first touch to allow you to play quickly.
Work on vertical and general strength. - One of the biggest adjustments from high school to college is the physicality of the game. Players are bigger, Faster, and Stronger... which means you have to be too! Working on your strength, agility, and vertical will allow you to become a greater presence between the pipes.
Continue to develop leadership and communication. - As GK's, it is our responsibility to lead and direct the team in front of us. The best way to do this is with efficient communication. Clear, Concise, Direct (also words like positive and supportive, but constructive criticism can be effective as well when implemented properly). Continue to refine your communication on and off the field so as to foster a successful environment.
