Trey Conrod joined the Lion basketball staff as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2019 after a stellar two-year playing career for the Lions. Conrod played in 64 games with 49 starts in his two-year A&M-Commerce career, playing more than 1,600 career minutes. He scored 655 career points with 264 rebounds and 108 assists with a 49.2 shooting percentage. He was a member of two NCAA Tournament and  All-Lone Star Conference selection and All tournament team as a senior and a three-time LSC Player of the Week.

Sterling Holmes enters his fourth season as Trinity's Assistant Mens Basketball Coach, and his fifth season overall with the Tigers. Coach Holmes served as the assistant mens basketball coach during the 2021 spring season. Coach Holmes helped lead the Tigers to a 10-2 (8-1 SCAC) record. Coach Holmes was a part of the culture change that saw the Tigers post their first winning season since 2016-17 and their first Southern Collegiate Athletics Conference Championship appearance since 2013-14.  In the 2018-19 season, Holmes served as a volunteer Men's Basketball Assistant Coach under the direction of longtime Head Coach, Pat Cunningham. Last season, the Tigers went 10-16 overall and 8-10 in conference play. The team made it to the SCAC Tournament, but were eliminated by Schreiner (TX) University in the first round. Prior to coming to campus, he served on the National Basketball Association Dallas Mavericks staff under Head Coach Rick Carlisle as a player development intern during the 2018-19 season. Coach Holmes also was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Texas Lutheran University, during the 2017-18 campaign. As a member of the Texas Lutheran mens basketball team - which won three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships from 2015-2017 - Coach Holmes became a decorated player. The talented guard was elected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) 2016 Player of the Year. He also was a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Second Team All-American and was tabbed for the D-III News Honorable Mention All-America Team. In his senior season of 2016-17, Coach Holmes received NABC All-South Region Second Team accolades and was selected to play in the NABC Reeses Division III College All-Star Game. He also was named to the D3hoops.com All-South Region Second Team. Coach Holmes earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Lutheran in sport management. He hails from San Antonio and attended Antonian College Preparatory High School.

Rodney "Mac" McConnell was introduced as the seventh Head Men's Basketball Coach in March 2020. Mac McConnell brings with him nearly two decades of coaching experience at multiple levels. His history of recruiting and developing players is vast, including 12 former players who have gone on to play professionally, as well as 27 all-conference players and two All-Americans. McConnell comes to TAMIU after three seasons as the associate head coach at fellow Lone Star Conference (LSC) school Tarleton State University. While with the Texans, he helped guide the team to three straight appearances in the LSC Tournament. McConnell coached five All-LSC players, as well as the 2019 LSC Defensive Player of the Year. He was previously at Tarleton as an assistant coach for the 2004-2005 season and helped guide the team to a berth in the NCAA Division II Final Four. Before arriving at Tarleton for his most recent stint, McConnell spent two seasons at NAIA Wiley College as associate head coach. At Wiley, he helped guide his team to a 25-10 record in the 2016-2017 season with a berth in the NAIA National Tournament. While there, his team knocked off NCAA Division I Sam Houston State and Grambling State, as well as seven wins over ranked NAIA opponents in two seasons. He also coached two First Team All-Americans and two First Team All-Conference players. McConnell spent two seasons as the head coach at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. At ECU, his team knocked off top-ranked Newman in the 2012-2013 season. He also coached two all-conference players. McConnell earned his first opportunity as a head coach at Ranger College, a junior college in Ranger, Texas, where he spent four seasons. While there, he led his teams to back-to-back 20-win seasons, including a 24-10 record in 2009-2010 which at the time was the programs best record in 20 years. He also had stops as an assistant coach at Angelo State, McNeese State, University of Montana-Missoula and Hill College. As a player, McConnell played for three years at Tarleton posting a record of 53-29 under legendary head coach Lonn Reisman. A native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, McConnell earned his bachelors and masters degrees from Tarleton.

Coach Bryant Pagan II is the newly appointed Head Coach and previously served  as the Associate Head Coach Position under the guidance of Coach Robert Byrd. At The University of Arkansas Cossatot they produced (2021-2022): Mens Basketball (17-10, 5-5), 4 NJCAA D1 wins, Terry Anderson NJCAA D2 All-American (2X), Region 2 Player of the year and 1st Team All Region, Dalon Dean 2nd Team All Region. Womens Basketball (9-14, 1-9), 2 D1 NJCAA wins. (2020-2021): Mens Basketball (11-7, 6-4) Region 2 #3 seed, Semifinal appearance, first postseason win in program history. Terry Anderson NJCAA D2 All-American, Region 2 Player of the year and 1st Team All Region. Womens Basketball (5-11, 3-7) Region 2 #5 seed, Semifinal appearance, first postseason win in program history. Anayzia Jefferson All Region 2nd team.

Hello my name is Coach Hutchinson, I am originally from Shreveport, La. I have been relocated in the Dallas area for 4 years. Basketball has always been a passion for me. I am currently an assistant Mens Basketball Coach at Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas. We are dedicated to w and consistency. Angelo State Associate Head Coach David Lewis will be entering his sixth season on the Angelo State mens basketball staff, and has been a major role player in the teams successes. They have won over 100 games in his first 5 years reaching 3 NCAA tournaments and a national ranking as high #4. He also developed 10 All-Conference players in his time at the school. Lewis came to Angelo State from the Orlando Magic where he worked as a video analyst/opposition scout after being an assistant coach with the Austin Toros in the 2013-14 season. In Orlando, he came in under Jacque Vaughn and had the opportunity to work with Victor Oladipo, Tobias Harris, Elfrid Payton, Aaron Gordon and Nik Vucevic. He worked under head coach Ken McDonald and along side Josh Howard, Flip Murray and Luke Zeller while with the Austin Toros.  His coaching career started at the University of Texas at Austin under Rick Barnes where he work with 9 players who went on to be drafted into the NBA.

Coached over 25 players to go back n to play Collegiate basketball at all levels. Coached All Ohio Red Nike to many state championships and National tournaments. Coached numerous NBA and the international professionals. Recently began Coaching at Our Lady of The Lake University. In first at year we became only NAIA school to defeat a D1 program. Main duties are recruiting and player development .
